Rhyme Match CVC – Build a Snowman
After you’ve printed and laminated the cards and cut them apart, place them into sensory bins and show the kids what they need to do. They choose a ‘snowman head’ card and read the CVC word then place that on the mat, then read and find a matching ‘snowball’ to give the snowman his body.
You can get the learners to write their matching CVC words into the recording sheet. This is a great way to practice building short CVC sounds. You could also create a group competition doing this!
CVC words can be difficult for kindergarten kids. Encourage them to work on their reading and rhyming skills with this set of fun snowman cards!
