Print as many
mats as you need for the number of groups in your class. If you are
using these in a center, it’s a great idea if you have an extra set
just in case you want another group to get started on the mats. There
are 3 color mats and 3 of the same in black and white if you wish to
save on colored ink.

Since there are three different mats,
you could get each group to work on a mat and them swap them over!
This is why laminating these mats is a great idea. They will get
plenty of practice! If the kids aren’t ready to write their numbers
yet, have them use number magnets instead to identify how many they
see of each image.
